The week of September 20, 2015, major security companies will be establishing the first annual National Security Officer Appreciation Week. Subsequent years will feature this event during the third full week of September. The goal of the week is to recognize security officers’ many contributions to our daily lives, and this includes contract and in-house security officers across all industries. The appreciation week is an opportunity to profile the many roles security officers fill, debunk misconceptions and stereotypes, and raise awareness of the career opportunities that exist within the security services industry.  Do you know a security guard – thank him or her.
